what have I hoarded?
Well there's the SX-101A and the HT-37 with the solid state rectifier.
I also have an R-47 speaker. That's about it for Hallicrafters.
Is that a hoard? I don't think so.
I don't use the SX-101A or the HT-37 so I'm considering giving them to a
guy who's working on his General. He's "this close" to making it.
Passed the theory but just can't do the 5.
I do have more than my share of Heathkits though. It's not that I'm
crazy about them, it's that for the price, I can't pass them up.
I think the SB-303 is a better receiver than the SX-101. Sorry but
that's how it looks to me. Better frequency calibration, more stable,
just as sensitive, and better filters. Crystals beat LC filters.
The 101A has the notch. I don't use it.
The 101A has a smoother sound though.
It seems to me that even Collins is way undervalued. 75S-1's are going
for about $300. Seems that it should be more.
