Hi John,
    You ask, "Are any of the coupling and bypass caps particularly
difficult to get to and change?"  It'd be easier to answer if you asked if
any weren't particularly difficult ;-)
    You're in for an education, and an excersize in patience & self
control.  The SX-28 is one of the hardest old rcvrs there is to work on,
I've been into 3.  (I'm sure someone'll come up with something else.)  The
SX-42 is slightly easier, as is the 28A (marginally).
    I have several of the manuals, Rider incl. I think.  I can scan the
parts list for you, in the AM.  It's a pain in the neck that the Halli
manuals don't put the values on the schematic, you can't work without the
parts list.
