[Hallicrafters] Lettering on DD-1

Are there any Hallicrafters DD-1 owners that could maybe help me? I
finally got my DD-1 operating and it works superbly. I have a couple
of questions though:

1) The inscribed lettering "SKYRIDER DIVERSITY MODEL SS-1" has lost
the paint inlaying the lettering. In Duchis it looks like the
lettering could be black.- could someone confirm that.
2) I do have some hum in the receiver (all power supply capacitors
have been replaced). It could be a filament-to-cathode leakage in one
of the tubes but my question is: The push-pull output is a pair of 2A3
tubes in which the cathode is the filament BUT one of the 2A3 has a
bluish glow - I suspect this indicates some gas within the tube - could
this be the cause of the hum?

Thanks.
