And that's more important than movie references to Hallicrafters
receivers because.....? While personalities and opinions are no doubt
a part of it, it's really about the old radio interest. Rather than
shutting out someone else's comments in favor of your own, why not
simply contribute to the thread? Books, film, flea market finds - it's
all good. (o:

Some time ago many folks contributed their sightings of Hallicrafters
gear seen in movies, for all to enjoy. The Collins list has something
similar, I think Floyd Soo keeps that list. It would be nice to have a
site where all of this information resides, regardless of brand, just
specific to old tube gear (military gear too).

The most amusing Halli sighting for me (and I'm sure it has been
mentioned) was in a Sci Fi film from the 50s, and shows a SX-43
receiver (I think) with a speaker on the wall above it: R-42, mounted
upside-down! Of course, this gear was to them what the Yaecomwood
plug-n-play gear is to us today, but it also shows that many of the
movie set-types were as "detail-oriented" then as now. But then, who
notices but us?
