Granted, there are good and bad operators regardless of the country.

I am not listening to the anecdotes you refer to, I have heard the comments 
on the air by overseas operators for years. Mostly the UK. Based on what I 
hear from my listening post, there are a lot of American Hams who behave 
like they were participating in a Shark feeding frenzy. However, there are 
also a lot of European stations with signals of +20, so strong that they 
splatter 5 KHZ either side of the frequency being occupied. Isn't there a 
200 watt power limitation in some parts of the UK? Maybe it is just a real 
good dipole! (chuckle)

Ever notice how everyone is "5/9"? Just once I would like to hear: "You are 
4/4 and your audio stinks!" (LOL!)
