John if it hurts its true and if you have no defense you normally try to
offend the other party or limit their credibility, no beer here , just good
common sense John. I've been a ham for 31 years, contests are nothing more
than a ridiculous use of the spectrum by a few self centered self pleasing
hams. who spend a lot to win a senseless game, and operate poorly to do so.
Why not limit contests to a small portion of the band, why is it that just a
few insignificant hams in numbers ( CQ magazine notes contesters comprise
only 2% of active hams ) can take the entire spectrum and play a game all
weekend long, why do you think you have the right to do that. The 40 meter
band is just 150 KCS. wide, take 500 hams , less that one percent of the
hams in Ohio and tell them to play contest and what does the band sound
like. crap.
No beer here John, but you need to go back look in the mirror and take a
long look at who you are and what you are and then perhaps you can come up
with something better for all of us or perhaps come up with a better reason
for contests than accusing someone of drinking, perhaps you could even be
honest John.. listen to your fellow hams who are fed up with contesting.
