[Hallicrafters] The Saturday Net

Yo Tom Terrific,

Is there a Contest going on? (LOL!) I thought it was the annual Arkansas Hog
Calling Contest where those proud Pig people do some things with the human
vocal cords not previously thought possible! Have you ever heard some of
those people doing those calls Tom? It really is incredible. I was
surprised, however, to hear it being rebroadcast all over the 40 meter Ham
bands. With the ARRL constantly making new rules, killing old rules and
changing existing ones it is difficult to know what is legal nowadays.
(chuckle)

I did get on today, but the band was a little long. I was hearing a K5
station calling CQ, which is not typical. However, in all fairness, with the
calls not having to be zone correct anymore this station may not have
actually been in five land, so the band may not have been as long as I
thought.

I could not hear the adjacent states, so I pulled the plug early and went to
work around here instead.

Tom it is not likely you are going to get in on Saturday, so save your
trouble. Go for the Sunday Net, as i normally can hear Colorado easily.

Thanks for trying.

Duane W8DBF
