Well John, as long as you're going to use it to test tubes in Hallicrafters radios, a brief comment and assist is probably OK here.
Some say the TV-2 can best be described having been designed with the masochist in mind. It's a good machine, but rather imposing with those five or six meters -- I lost count. It's a bit difficult to concentrate on one at a time with all the others staring at you.
Not the most user-friendly interface, but not that bad when you get used to it. A lot of the designs went in the direction of making it simpler and less error prone to set up for a test. This one went the other way. I believe they were designed by Hickok but made by an assortment of manufacturers. I forgot who made mine.
There's plenty of free downloads available of manuals and additional tube charts - -three I know of offhand:
The bama site -- here's the mirror site for it: http://bama.edebris.com/manuals/miltest/tv2/
The Army's Logsa Site -- start off with https://www.logsa.army.mil and you go from there to electronic documents. There are five or size manuals after you search on "TV-2" under "title contains". Some may be the same as the ones on bama.
Finally, there's Nolan Lee's Boatanchor web pages. http://www.acadiacom.net/nlee/
Before he disappeared, Nolan compiled a supplement and restroked the whole roll chart.
That should keep you busy for a while. Don't try to read it all in one sitting -- the plot is a little thin.
Just be careful and double check what you're doing. TV-2's are impressive, but may be fragile or punish you by burning up your tubes. As with any tester, you don't want to proceed with a quality test before checking fully for shorts. Also, it may be due for some maintenance.

Howdy folks!! Having just acquired a TV 2 tube tester,
I WILL USE TO TEST TUBES IN HALLICRAFTERS RADIOS, I
would like to hear from those of you familar with the
various military tube testers. How do the various
models compare and what do you think of the TV-2? Was
it made by Hickok? Any tips for use? Is there a tech
manual for the TV-2, and if so, where might one be
obtained? It has the roll chart with it.
If weight equals quality, it is a good one!! HI!! HI!!
Please respond directly. I don't want to ANGER anyone
who might be sensitive to INTELLIGENT ELECTRONIC
DISCOURSE!!! Thanks and 73, John, K5PGW (a Ham long
