[Hallicrafters] Refurb. Help Halli S-41W

I have a Halli S-41W, the white model.

The electronics appear intact and the dials
work well.  The receive-Standby switch needs
to be replaced and the dial glass (plastic)
needs to be secured.  The knob surfaces are
rough.

The big challenge is the white paint.  In
addition to some chips and scuffs there is
a great deal of gray mold-like discolorization.
I don't know if I can repaint it and defend
the silk screening.

Thoughts?
