Greetings fellow Hallicrafters lovers,
I picked up a cabinet today which has a label on top stating:
Signal Corps U. S. Army
Case, Receiver
CY-1260G
The Hallicrafters Company
It accepts a 19 inch panel and the overall dimensions are 20 1/4W X 13 1/8H X
13 1/2D. There are a couple of chassis slides at the bottom and the unit has
small shock mounts. It is painted in what I would call St. James gray wrinkle
finish, but since it says Hallicrafters on it, I kinds doubt it was for a
collins receiver.
Does anyone have any idea what this case was used to house? Is it possible
that it was for the R-274 series receivers? I have never seen a photo of one of
these receivers in a separate cabinet, only rack mounted.
73,
John, W4AWM
