>From ads in my March 1963 issue of 73 Magazine, which I have kept all
of these years, because this issue featured a great receiver buying
guide showing the pictures and specifications of most of the tube type
radios of the day that were available on the new and used market:

The used price for a SX-88 is given as $310 which was still a lot of
money in 1963 dollars! The Poly Paks ad shows they were located in S.
Lynnfield Mass. John Meshna Jr. was at 19 Alerton St., Lynn Mass.

My father, who ran a part time Radio and TV repair business in Montana,
had a fondness for surplus military radio equipment, and was a
frequent customer of sellers such as John Meshna Jr., R.L. Goodhart
Co., Fair Radio Sales,and others.

Some of the 1963 advertisers still in business today include
International Crystal, R.L Drake, Cushcraft, Rohn, Amateur Electronic
Supply, and Fair Radio Sales.
