I, too, was lucky enough to visit Antique Electronics Supply in Mesa, Arizona, when they still allowed customers to prowl the stock room.

I should say they encouraged, urged, almost demanded that visitors explore the entire place. I never would've thought to ask. Heck, even 12 years ago when I was there, permission to roam the premises was an almost unheard-of luxury.

Of course, as a result of having free run of the place, I found all sorts of things I didn't know I "needed" until I saw the stuff on the shelves. They got at least double the amount of  money that I'd intended to spend when I walked in the door...
