Have been following the recent traffic on SX-28s. It was my first rig 40 years ago as a teenage novice. Good deal at the time for $50 and one heck of a legacy but I hate to agree with Gary that there are many other "vintage radios" readily available that perform much better for fewer bucks. All I recall about the SX-28 in 1966 was that I developed my teenage biceps moving it around, sensitivity wasn't all that good, the front end completely washed out when the local veteran Ham loaded up and she drifted what seemed like 5 Kc when I slapped her on the side. I am restoring a couple of SR-150s and for half the weight and half the price they are very functional and enjoyable. On a practical note, however, she was able to cleverly hide my ripped out pages of my friend's Playboy magazines without having to worry about burning them up. God what memories!!!
