[Hallicrafters] Baking Out Moisture from Transformers

Someone posted information once on a procedure to
oven-dry the moisture out of old transformers so they
don't leak electrons and self-destruct.  Of course, I
have misplaced the info.

What is the time and temperature required for this? 
What about later transformers that have some use of
plastics in them?  Is the temp low enough that
plastics won't melt?
