Hi Ross,
That used to be my understanding until someone pointed out the xtal
filter meaning of the X. I thought the S models were general coverage
receivers and the SX models were ham band only. Now I have to wonder
if one can also surmise that radios with the X were BOTH xtal filter
AND ham bands only. Maybe this naming convention is
Boolean....hahaha.

Hate to beat this one to death but...the SX-117 does not use a crystal
filter. Selectivity is achieved with LC filters. Where all SX's ham
band
only receivers?
