Gee, this group has to stop worrying about the "why" of model designations
and use the gear!

Everybody knows that when you turn on the gear you hear from the
speaker.....WHAT?

SSSSSSSSSSSS of course!

So, obviously the gear is named for the noise it produces.      "S"    !!!!

(They were going to name them:  SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS then the rest but
they couldn't agree how many of the "S" to use so they decided one would do
the trick!)
