  Or you can also just use an empty tube socket ( break and old tube ) go to 
radio shack buy some 1000 piv at one amp diodes and make a diode string , 
just a few on each leg and to do the same thing. Now the problem of the 
filiment voltage is taken care of , there isn't any..
