Waldo-

I have to agree with you on the TW having some
advantages over the Trans-O! The one great advantage
is the huge slide rule dial readout. I need to do an
IF alignment on mine for sure. On the AM broadcast
band, signals and band noise are much stronger above
1400Kcs. Mine as a result lacks some sensitivity below
1400Kcs. The SW bands seem to work very well on mine
too. I also agree on the excellent audio quality. I
noticed the same thing here as you did once I replaced
the 1U5 detector and cleaned the band switch contacts
and got it working. Great general coverage vacuum tube
receiver to have as part of ones collection and use.
