Everyone who loves Halli receivers and the SX-28 in
particular should look at this one on the Bay of E.
It is not mine.
This is as near mint as you will ever see, for an
SX-28. According to the description the radio was
bought "about 1941" not long before the original owner
shipped out for the Pacific, not long before the war
began, and never came back; it has been in "dry
storage" for 65+ years and was found in its original
box.
NO visible scratches. NO chipped paint. NO rust. NO
corrosion. You could eat off the chassis in a 5-star
restaurant.
Item number is 330062789241. It listed December 13.
Don't I WISH that I could afford this one. The seller
is looking for big, big bux on it.
Those restoring SX-28 receivers might ought to archive
the pictures for reference!
The serial is H-115254, which according to the Western
Radio Museum web site, makes this one very early
indeed. It may be from the original production run.
It does not have the two holes in the top edge of the
panel flanking the dial, which were characteristic of
"Run 2" and later.
Enjoy the views!
