Old QSTs are great reading. I found an ad for C&G Radio Supply who were
known for their innovative ads and products.

The half page ad in the Feb 1956 QST (page 98) is selling the Hallicrafters
SR-500 combination. This is the only ad I have ever seen selling the SR-500
this way. The SR-500 was made up of a HT-30 30 watt exciter, the HT-31 500
watt amplifier, and the SX-100
receiver. C&G was offering the equipment separately
or for about $200 more as the SR-500 with the gear installed in a nice
console with a desk and a lock and key system. See Page 51 of the 2nd
Edition of the Tube Type Transmitter Guide by Gene Rippen (Sound Values
Publications). Or look in a ARRL Handbook 1957 as I recall maybe others.

This is the station Max HB9RS had in Ethiopia in 1960-1.

C&G later offered a complete antenna system for 80 to 10 consisting of beam
elements on 20 to 10 and wires on 80 and 40. I seem to recall they gave
some away to get the antenna system started.
