A few years ago (longer than I care to remember) a certain W5 who never user
phonetics called CQ DX on 15 meters.  N4RJ decided that he would use RG8U
and reply.  The W5 excitedly asked for his QSL and asked which Russian
country he was in.

Later the W5 (who never used phonetics) called CQ again and this time he was
answered by 5U4GB.  The W5 said thanks for the Niger QSO (Niger still has
the 5U prefix altho most operators there sign 5U7).

I don't think he ever knew he was talking to Coax or a rectifier tube!
