I have contributed material to and downloaded from BAMA for several years 
and do not experience these problems.  With Internet Explorer 6x you most 
probably will not get into the main site.  However on the mirror site IE 
will work

I recently updated IE 6 to IE 7 and the main site works just like the mirror 
site.  Prior to IE 7 I had to use an FTP program and the number of 
connection were limited.  This number has been increased and I have only had 
one instance of failure to connect in the past six months.

Check your settings and read the help part it could be your browser.
