[Hallicrafters] HT 40

Interested to see posts regarding HT 40. I have one
that has been recapped by me. Had been partially
recapped by someone with some original caps left in
pwr supply.

After completely rcapping, I fired it up and it puts
out rated power but has two problems. It doesn't
oscilate on 80 meters or put out pwr on 80 meters.
Second problem is CHIRP.  There is voltage sag but
some sag is expected. Can't find the cause of the
CHIRP. I am presently in Alaska and the transmitter is
at home in Louisiana. Maybe, when I get home this
fall, I will work on it again and we can share
information.

By the way, there seems to be two circuits component
differnces, but I don't have those with me. 73, John,
