Have a nice HT-37 in the "to be restored" queue here too so have been
following this thread with some interest. Had previous experience with phasing rigs
having brought a Gonset GSB-100
up on the air some years ago. The following points stick in my mind.
One MUST have a scope to line one of these things up.
Finding the correct set of adjustments to get both upper and lower sidebands
coming out right can be tricky and takes a while.
Expect to have to realign periodically, especially if left idle for extended
periods.
Nice sounding output, SSB and AM.
The GSB-100 used a crystal to null out the carrier in addition to the usual
carrier balance adjustments. Worked FB. Big box, small output though.
Single 6DQ5 PA. Expect the 37 with a pair of 6146s will be much better. Plan
to pair it with my SX-42.
