The better auto paint shops try to use females to match paint.
apparently they have a better eye for colors. In addition they usually
try to get matchers with blue or green eyes, that also adds to their
color sensitivity. A good paint shop will make you a very, very good
match. It might run as high as $60.00 per quart, for enamels, when you
figure in the hardner, thinners (wash thinners), strainers etc. If you
are going to paint a bunch of cabinets the same color, buy it by the gallon.
I do the same as Glen, I go to a local Sherwin Williams. I don't think
the quality of the paint is anynear the quality as auto body paint. Auto
paint has been designed to last outside in any kind of weather for many
years. However, the SW will give good performance indoors for many years.
