Please bear in mind: These Model Master colors are
all FLAT finishes.
If you spray them from an aerosol can you will have to
overcoat them with a gloss finish.
A better method would be to airbrush them and pre-mix
them with the clear gloss. Testors Glosscote does
well for this.
And, one color not on this list is Testors Model
Master Panzer Gray, which is a pretty good match for
the SX-96/99/100 which are "not quite black." You
might want to add a drop or two of flat black if you
think it is too gray; however:
NOTE, that flat colors and gloss colors look
different, even though they are the same shade. This
observation comes from quite a bit of my own
experience building scale model aircraft.
Also be aware that these radios are, basically,
industrial machines, not a 1928 Duesenberg. I
seriously doubt that a great deal of care was taken
with paint mixing. The Mark I Eyeball was probably
the standard. The paint was probably mixed in 55
gallon drums with a boat paddle.
By the way, I saw an SX-100 at a recent hamfest
(Charlotte) which had its cabinet painted absolute
black (silver top of course). It was a nice finish,
to be sure (though the radio inside was filthy dirty
and in my opinion not worth near the asking price),
but it did not look right.
