Those caps are mica. More than likely, they are fine. I left my alone when recapping my SX-42. But, please do change out all paper-wax caps (and especially the electrolytic caps) and install a slow blow fuse inline with the AC supply. Look especially at the filter condenser. If your radio has any hum at all- you should replace the filter condenser immediately! Reform, replace or better yet, disconnect the can and replace the caps with new electrolytic caps under the chassis. Paying someone to re-wind a power transformer, or for you to replace one is not something you will want to do!

i am recapping my sx 42 which i have working great now i am about halfway
through the process . i removed the bottom cover of the transformer to put in
new line caps and the caps that are in there look like mica caps.
they are about 3qtr by 3qtr square black have the name TOBE on them are
10000 MMF
and are rated at 600 volts should i leave them there since i think they are
mica caps ???
