Duane,
As far as I know the 5-T was the first model of Sky Buddy and I believe
the boy on the dial is the main difference between versions of that set.
The S-19 (1938) and S-19R (1939-42) Sky Buddies are distinctly
different. The S-19 has a single tuning knob with some impressive
gearing to drive the bandspread dial. The S-19R has separate main and
bandspread tuning knobs. I believe the S-19 also has mainly metal tubes
while the S-19R has mainly glass tubes. Even though there were nearly
as many S-19's produced as S-19R's I have only seen one S-19 in the
flesh. That was a derelict set kicked over to a corner at a yard sale
and marked $5. Yes, it did follow me home.
By my count the S-119 is the fourth model of Sky Buddy.
