FWIW,
A while back, Duane posted a reminder notice on his policy and I've kept a
copy. It did not forbid mentions of eBay or other auction sites. The full
text is attached below. Note, though, it says the links & subtle hints
policy
"does not include the discussion of an item for
sale on an electronic auction or telling someone
that one is for sale there, unless it happens to
be yours or you provide a link to it. "
That sounds like the door is wide open so long as direct links or URLs are
avoided and we don't promote our own auctions, if we have any.

Just as a friendly reminder to long time subscribers, and a warning to new
subscribers, no links to any electronic auction sites are allowed. Not a
link to
an item you are selling, not a link to an item somebody else is selling or
any
link for any other reason. This also includes subtle hints that you have
equipment described here for sale on the 'forbidden place', or some other
couched reference to EBAY. This does not include the discussion of an item
for
sale on an electronic auction or telling someone that one is for sale
there,
unless it happens to be yours or you provide a link to it. Those who
violate
this policy will be removed. This is the only warning you will receive,
remember
it!
