In the 50's I built most of my own transmitters, and a few receivers and  
converters. Some of it looked sort of professional, but then I never had  
anything beyond a hand drill and some Greenlie punches. I was also rather  
impoverished, so lots of stuff came from the junk box or via generous Elmers.  None of 
this stuff survived except one picture of my 1956 shack. Tell me where  to 
upload it and I'll send it along.
 
By the way, I know exactly what picture is being talked about. It was in at  
least 4 issues of the Handbook, and showed a homebrew Q-multiplier outboard 
the  left side of an SX-28.
