[Hallicrafters] SX-16 & 17 dial lights

I agree with Tom on this.  I have had (2) SX-17's and (1) SX-16 neither one
had his so called mod.  I also have looked at many images of the same
receivers on all the popular internet sites and have never until today seen
this modification.  Upon first seeing it, I said "What the heck is that
thing"?  That’s why I asked the question.  Oh, and I do have Chuck's second
book.  How do you think I got so smart.

NO, NO....NONONOONnonono... the 16 and 17 DID NOT come with a dial light.
The idiot who had MY SX-16 before I got it, also put TWO nice holes in the
front panel for HIS "mod".  Look at all the pictures of these landmark
radios (first ever with an S meter), and you'll see that these receivers DID
NOT come with dial lamps.  Good idea?... yes.  Devalue the receiver?... yes.

I found two snap-in plugs for mine, and they're already wrinkle-blacked...
they'll go in after restoration.
