I also have an S20R. It has a field coil and an output xfmr mounted on the 
back of the speaker. I don't think you have to do any mods with your new 
speaker. The sound quality (if there is any in an S20R!) might suffer, and you might 
not get as much volume out of the set. But it should work. Try it - what have 
you to lose? Also where did you find the speaker, as I need one for my S20?
