I wonder if cleaning then aplication of "cool-amp" would help the sockets? The cool-amp product is a silver plating process used in high power electrical contacts, kinda expensive but they do sample small amounts

Remember that the equipment was not originally
intended to be still in use decades after manufacture.
The fact that equipment that is over 40 years old is
still working today is a tribute to the original
designers who were really looking at a lifespan of
less than 10 years.
