[Hallicrafters] S-38E Mkii

I have (4) S-38E MkII series receivers and all of them has a problem with
the BFO.  I have been unable to get the BFO working on any of them.  The
models I have, have the control on the back apron of the chassis to vary the
BFO injection.  I forget what this control is called right now.

I can force the BFO by bringing a short lead from the grid to the plate
circuit, a gimmick cap, but it is not switch able with the front slide
switch so it is on all the time.

What I really need is a CLEAR schematic of the BFO circuitry on these
receives so I can troubleshoot some more and get this solved.  BAMA's
schematic is basically very poor and unreadable.

Anyone with a schematic of the S-38E MKII that incorporates the pot control
on the back apron, not the schematic that uses the gimmick capacitor in
earlier versions on the S-38E.  The S-38 Guy site only mentions this model
in passing, with no real information on the BFO circuitry in this version of
S-38E MKII.  I need a schematic I can follow!
