Hi Tom,

I used to offer my friends an HSKT award for rigs with all those
knobs.  HSKT stood for High Speed Knob Twister.

Ah, yes... The truly great thing about the ALLIED, B-A, LAFAYETTE,
HEATH
catalogs, was that you could count the "controls"... every kid KNEW
that the
more controls you had, the better it must be.  Must be why I had a C-E
20-A
exciter, 458 (ARC-5) VFO, 600-L linear (should've called it the 600
LB), and
a 1941 Hammarlund SuperPro.  When it's place was taken by an almost
new SWAN
500C, it... well... looked funny, but I suddenly had more room in my
apartment.

See you all after 9th. October - heading over to "G" land (more ways
than
one).
