[Hallicrafters] Stuck slugs

An absolute solution is to drill them out with a drill in a reamer handle using a bit that is smaller than the form.  The slug will collapse and a vacuum cleaner will clean the remains and it is a safe process not twisting the coil out of it's mount. The reamer handle allows you to meter the twist where an electric tool will occasionally jam and @$@%$^&.  Do not use slugs that are removed from vintage radio's, they to will fracture.  I invariable find a vendor at the ham fests that sells RF coils with slugs for RF use that will not fracture when using the plastic adjuster.
