When wiggling those tubes, grasp them and move in a circular motion - both
directions (first, without power).  Often, this will clean minor corrosion
from the pins AND the socket points.... old Navy trick.  ...NOW power it up,
and see.  Not sure about the 101, but other "h" receivers often have bypass
plugs & standby terminals (plus the switch).  G.Luck...
