thanks for all your help  to everyone who replied . i used the smell it out  
method described by Duane  which worked great i found the burnt resistor  i 
couldnt read the stripes on it because they needless to say burnt off . if i am 
reading the schematic correctly it is a 1 watt 330k resistor # 45 on the parts 
list in manual  near the  first FM limiter 7h7  which carries B+ to tuning 
coils  and it is also tied into a .02 cap which is probably the culprit. so i am 
going to replace all the caps in it and replace the resistor  and hope it  
didnt take out anything else  . i may need more help with this and thank you all 
for your help
