I wonder how long it will be before digital and satellite broadcasting 
renders all our treasured "heirloom" radio gear as obsolete as spark 
transmitters and coherers.

I was one of those old farts who solemnly pronounced that digital 
cameras -- while an interesting novelty -- could never compete with my 
precious Leica and Hasselblad equipment. Ooops!
