Does anybody out there in Radioland have a bandspread
dial for an SX-25?
I've acquired an otherwise-nice receiver -- it
actually works, with a new electrolytic -- with an
inward warp in the bandspread dial window, so the dial
has rubbed against the window and almost completely
obliterated the markings for the 40-meter band.
Maybe, if an actual dial can't be found, this one
could be re-inked with a calligraphy pen or relettered
with number decals or dry transfers. Anyone ever
tried this? Sure, it would not be "original," but it
might add some "character." Who knows?
If you have a good bandspread window I'm interested in
that as well. Or some advice on flattening this one
out. Has anyone ever tried using an iron to do it?
Say, between two pieces of metal, or something else
that would not stick to the plastic window?
And yes, in spite of the fact that it works, I do plan
to recap it. Let me finish my SX-28 first.
