This has turned into quite an interesting collection of material. It was
mentioned on the Saturday HCI 40 meter Net, in fact.
Would one of you please volunteer to cut and paste the various posts into one
document? Perhaps using MS Word Pad? I would make it available on the HCI web
site for all to use.
I have been selectively storing posts about Hallicrafters, Drake, Heathkit,
Swan, Collins, National, Hammarlund and more, for the past seven years into my
boat Anchor Tech Directory. I am going to edit them out, as each is still the
original e-mail with header, footer and other not needed material, and make them
available upon request. That is, if you have a question, send it to me and I
will search my files for all answers ever posted. i will forward to you those
posts.
I am also seriously considering devoting space on the HCI web site to this, but
not in a submission Q/A format. It will be a Tech Tip Forum. Each month I will
post a series of questions and the answers that were posted for said question. I
will post a new series on the first day of each month. All previous articles
will be saved and when the full cycle of material has been exhausted, I will run
the entire series again. As new material becomes available, so will totally new
articles.
Now I am only mildly technical! Because I am totally blind, there are a lot of
visual things I am not able to utilize or recognize or discover and so forth.
Some things you simply need to have eyesight for, there is no other practical or
'good' way to do it. I have some strong areas, but more weak ones. I could
really use the assistance of several of 'YOU' in this effort!
If you are willing to help out, please contact me direct. Perhaps I could assign
specific areas that suit your own strong areas of interest and skill. this would
enable the monthly article to draw upon your priceless experience and the
contributions of suggestions from the hundreds who have made them over the
years. Everyone would benefit and this sharing of wisdom, accumulated knowledge
from applied 'real' experience and different ideas from dozens of Hams with a
different slant on the same issue would provide a tremendous technical database
for anyone to draw upon.
Who is willing to help?
