[Hallicrafters] Tube Tester Use

I have an old B&K tube Dyna Quik tester Model 550. It tests all the tubes
that I normally use or need and has been reliable.
My question is this. The B&K tester I have is a "Dynamic Mutual
Conductance" tester and some of the (new) tubes I test, do not seem to
measure up using the RED/YELLOW/GREEN scales.
I have always gone by the "go/no go" method using the RED/YELLOW/GREEN
scales and never paid any attention to the "Micromhos" scale. I recently
referred to my old RCA Receiving tube manual and noticed that each tube in
the book has a "Transconductance" value in micromhos.
I am now debating with myself if I should ignore the colors and actually
start to pay attention to the micromhos scale on the tester.
If this is so, could I use my old RCA receiving tube manual which gives the
Micromhos number for the tubes and compare this published number with the
one on the tube tester meter scale even if it is not in the green and assume
the tube is good? Is Transconductance the same as Mutual Conductance?
Thanks for any help with this.
