Not a lot new here, but I did pick up a Heath SB-630 station console
late February that is as close to new as any I've seen. There aren't
even any marks on the switch rotors to indicate that they were ever
exercised at all. Hopefully a fixable SB-610 and 620 will soon follow
to complete my original 1967 SB series setup with all options and
accessories. FYI, I'm re-wiring the phone patch of the 630 to serve as
a metered and level controlled route for ground isolated TX/RX audio
between the shack PC and the various radios. A Boatanchor Rigblaster it
shall be.
I have been busy ordering odds and ends parts for current and future
planned Boatanchor repairs. AES has 3579 Khz crystals for 15 cents, it
seems TV's don't use them anymore and they are dumping their stock. I
picked up a couple dozen for potential homebrew ladder filters.
The first semi local hamfest of 2005 is this coming Saturday
(Sterling-Rock Falls, IL) but I'll have to miss it.
Back to the preliminary planning for a 40-10 meter rotatable Moxon
rectangle setup using 40 meter quad fiberglass spreaders as supports.
This thing is going to look weird if it ever makes it to the tower top!
