[Hallicrafters] SX-28 Finds, Where does it stop

After doing recaps on several SX-28's and "A's". I thought I seen it all.
Well, guess again Gary........ I know have a SX-28 on the bench that needs a
total recap and audio section work. I thought something looked funny with
the RF deck but really didn't pay close attention to it until now. It
doesn't look like the old style SX-28 that I am use to seeing. It is far
different that the SX-28A. Compared to the SX-28, there are trimmers that
are not in the same place, nor are there some coils in the same place as the
SX-28's I have encountered. After digging around in my archives, I came
across a second version production of a military SX-28. WALAAAAA, Ill be
darned, this is it. Looks like a regular SX-28 on the outside but inside,
hmmmmmmm, different setup.
Just thought some of you mite be interested in this find. I know, there must
be a bunch of you out there that already knows this and I guess I just let
the cat out of the bag.
