Maybe we need a new Radio Relay League. One that ferries radios
> cross-country in relays  >> This is not a half bad idea. I would
sooner give someone some gas money in  exchange for the safe arrival of
a piece of gear than entrust it to "Joe Blow's
> Shipping and Disaster Company." Folks making a trip could post their
starting point, route and destination.

Need to remember the saga of the man now in jail in Florida for this
sort of scam.  He would sell you some batch of radio gear, have his
brother in law, the long haul trucker deliver and you never saw your
money or the radios or the brother in law again. They finally caught
him, but those of us who remember him would be very leeery of such a
deal.
