This is not a half bad idea. I would sooner give someone some gas money in 
exchange for the safe arrival of a piece of gear than entrust it to "Joe Blow's 
Shipping and Disaster Company."

Folks making a trip could post their starting point, route and destination. 
Anyone needing gear moved could contact them an see if they would be willing to 
pick it up and deliver it along the way. It would help if shippers and 
receivers could arrange to meet the "trucker" at a convenient point so they would 
not have to deviate far from their route and wast time trying to find an address 
in a strange location. 

Think about it, it could be a great service for all involved.
