The changeover relay is original. The Ameco preamp is
not, but was a very common addition to the HA-2. I
have had an HA-2 for about 30 years and it is still
going strong. My HA-2 has the Ameco preamp on the
back of the unit, not inside.
You will need to build a power supply or else get the
one that was made for the HA-2. It will also run the
HA-6 6-meter transverter (has provisions to plug in
both at the same time). I do have the original power
supply.
If I didn't already have an HA-2 I would certainly be
interested in this one. Not a "paid" advertisement,
just the truth. The HA-2 has two different power
inputs for the i.f. transmitter: One that takes up to
25 watts and one that takes up to 100 watts. You
definitely don't have to "worry" about blowing up the
HA-2 by using too much input power.
If the "seller" is interested in trades I might even
try to acquire it.
