In a "pinch" you can use a 6.3 volt or 12.6 volt
filament transformer.  Connect the 120 VAC primary to
the 500 ohm connections and a speaker across the
secondary.  The 6.3 volt works slightly better with
3.2 ohm speakers and the 12.6 volt works slightly
better with 8 ohm speakers.  But, you can use either
impedance speakers with either transformer.

Is the impedance properly matched?  Probably not. 
Does it work?  You bet your "sweet bippy"!
