a look at the pics say a lot it is not in bad shape and is worth the
$179.00 . now for the interesting parts. the front panel says it is a SX
101 but the glass dial shows 80- 10 mts with 2 and 6 which i thought was
the SX 101A.???
the sx 101 was made from 1957 thur 1958 there was the sx101 , mark 1 mark 2
mark 3 and mark 3A. these had 160 and 11 meters. they also had the round
metal H next to the dial knob. the SX101A was a major change in production
it was produced from 1959 to 1962 if i recall . they dropped the round H
next to the dial and dropped 160 and 11 meter coverage. they added 6 and 2
meter coverage with an outboard 46 or 49 mcs converter. the radios in
question may be a SX 101 A with the front panel changed or a SX 101 with a
SX 101A dial glass added. Glenn and Chuck might be able to give us more
info. i have owned 4 SX 101A's have not had a 101 but who knows. the 101A i
have now is setting next to my SX 115 and i really do not see much
difference in them receiver wise, i like the 101A better for AM copy. both
i got from the org owners along with a thunderbolt amp. guess ill thin out
the herd this summer . next project is to recap my two valiants.
