Please join us today, Sunday July 24th, for the HCI 20 meter Net. We will
struggle through the putrid propagation, QRM from alien space craft, who
probably aren't even properly licensed, or whatever that whistling and gurgling
racket is from and hold our mikes high with pride as we punch holes in the fog,
smog and soggy rain clouds and keep those wonders that still go glow in the
twilight filling the ether with real radio warmth! Be there and lets bounce a
few off the Ionosphere together!
The pre-Net shall commence at 12:45 PM EDT, (1645 UTC), so show up and keep me
from falling asleep like I did during the dead zone Saturday and hitting my chin
on the operating desk, trying to bite my lower lip in half and leaving a wound
that looks like I got kissed by a rotating fan blade! Ever accidentally dump an
ice cold glass of iced tea you were holding between your thighs into that small
change pocket on the right hand side of your Levis above the regular pocket?
Being so abruptly awakened from my unplanned nap I jumped out of my padded NCS
chair and filled that little pocket with tea and my Fruit Of The Looms with
three ice cubes! So be there today to keep me from more excitment, as i am out
of gauze pads and electrical tape!
The Net proper begins at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC). So I would appreciate the
designated relay stations showing up and helping out with the plethora of
propagation perturbations. Thanks guys!I appreciate it. The guys who can't hear
me appreciate it. The guys who can hear me that I can't hear appreciate it. Your
wives appreciate not having a "gee where did that come from" headache and your
pets appreciate it, as the stray RF some of you are emitting is killing the
fleas and ticks on their bodies! Which means, none of that stinking flea free
scented soap that you pour into the fifty gallon drum you cut in half for them
to take a bath in!
The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and a
startling announcement by Gary "Mr. Parts" Brown that the heater fan speed
regulator knob on the 1951 Packard is a real close match to the main tuning knob
on the Hallicrafters SX-101a. Hmmm. Maybe Gary has gotten too many fumes while
winding those primaries on the HT-37 transformers?
Be there! Enjoy some facts, fibs, fun, fellowship, free technical advice and a
whole lot more, all for free, and all provided by the NCS of HCI for those who
believe hollow state is better than solid state, except when it comes to what is
between ones ears!
